The new Zip 21C
cutter/slitter is the
high speed version of
the original Zip21
designed to cut business
cards & other
multiple-up products
produced from a range of
different printing
methods. The Zip21C is
significantly faster
producing 17,280 cards
per hour and comes
mounted on a stand which
houses the extra-large
waste container required
for such quick operating
speeds.
The Zip-21C cross cuts
the sheet with a
guillotine and then,
with a very easily
adjustable blade
cassette, it will slit
and/or score the sheet
immediately before it
exits to the delivery
tray. This clever
combination of two
cutting systems allows a
multitude of common
product (like 21-up or
24-up business cards) to
be accurately processed
in a single pass.
It can register from
either the lead edge of
the sheet or from a
printed registration
mark at the top of the
job, thereby reducing
the problems of image
drift which are so
common with digital
printers.
The horizontal cutting
data is simply
programmed via a touch
screen. The control
system allows 999 Job
memories to store the
data. Straight cuts or a
variable size gutter can
be removed between the
individual cards whilst
vertically a fixed 6mm
gutter is removed from
between each column of
cards. The sides of the
sheet are removed by
slitting wheels which
can be quickly and
easily adjusted to any
size. For those regular
jobs or special set-ups,
additional blade
cassettes are available.
When running, Batch
Counting is a useful
feature the touch screen
allows along with the
ability to vary the
motor speeds for
different or difficult
stocks.
Combined with a digital
printer, the Zip-21C
allows volume business
cards and other multi-up
products to be produced
with ease. This latest
model is the fastest Zip
in the range and will
produce up to 288
finished business cards
per minute (17,280 per
hour). |
